Antigua & Barbuda – Citizenship-by-Investment Program

The Antigua & Barbuda Citizenship-by-Investment Program was passed by both Houses of parliament and officially launched in March 2013.

Antigua & Barbuda – Citizenship-by-Investment Program

The Antigua & Barbuda Citizenship-by-Investment Program was passed by both Houses of parliament and officially launched in March 2013.

Eligibility Criteria

The main applicant must be over the age of 18
The main applicant and their dependents must have clean criminal records
Applicants cannot apply should they have been refused a visa to Country with which Antigua & Barbuda hold a visa free agreement with, specifically if entry was not granted prior to the refusal
Applicant’s must not be deemed a potential National Security risk
All applicants will be required to pass a stringent due diligence process prior to applying

Dependants

Spouse of the main applicant
Child dependents of the main applicant up to the age of 28
Dependent parents of the main applicant who are over the age of 58

Process and Timeframe

immVest International will strive to ensure that the best option is arrived at prior to engaging. We will then perform an initial due diligence both internally and with our Country specific Delivery Office. Our Client Agreement will then be signed, and relevant Professional Fees will then be payable. Our immVest International Processing office together with our Country specific Delivery Office will begin full preparation on the application prior to submission and visitation (if required).

Step 1: 1 week

Applicant makes a decision on best Investment option with the guidance on immVest International

Main applicant and any adult dependents pass initial due diligence

immVest Client Agreement is signed and Professional fees are then paid

immVest International will then send Citizenship application documentation

Step 2: 4 weeks

immVest International assists in the completion of all documentation and Government forms

If purchasing real estate, the required property will need to be selected and a 10% reservation fee on the selected real estate will need to be paid. All real estate documentation will then be prepared along with the payment

Step 3: 1 week

All Citizenship application documentation will then be checked and finalized by immVest against all requirements

Relevant Government due diligence fees, 10% of Government processing fees and Passport fees will now be payable

Step 4: 1 week

Once all documentation and fees are processed immVest International will then submit the application to the Citizenship by Investment Unit.

Step 5: 3 months

The Citizenship by Investment Unit will then complete the required due diligence on the applicants and return a decision which will be one of three options, Accept, delay for cause or refuse.

Step 6: 4 weeks:

Approval should then be granted by the Antigua & Barbuda Citizenship by Investment Unit

The remaining Government processing fees are then payable

Applicant’s must then finalize required payment of Investment; this will either be the remaining 90% on the real estate purchase or the required contribution to the National Development Fund (NDF)

Stage 7: 4 weeks

Applicants will then receive Certificate of registration, their Citizenship documentation and Passports, this will be delivered by immVest International

Step 8: This must be completed within the first 5 years of having Citizenship granted

Applicants will be required to visit Antigua & Barbuda within 5 years of having their Citizenship granted in order to attend and swear the oath of allegiance to the state. Applicants will also be required to spend a minimum period of 5 days in the Country in order to renew Passports at a later stage.

Investment Required

A contribution to the National Development Fund (NDF) of a minimum non-refundable amount of USD 100,000
The purchase of real estate with a minimum value of USD 400,000 from an approved real estate project. Under a limited time offer (LTO) — valid until 31 October 2019 — two applicants can make a investment with each applicant investing a minimum of USD 200,000 in order to qualify. The real estate cannot be disposed of within the five-year period.
The direct purchase of an eligible business for a minimum amount of USD 1.5 million as an individual, or a joint purchase where each person contributes at least USD 400,000, totaling a minimum of USD 5,000,000
